This top-class device sets new standards among AC/DC welding machines, and the user-friendly control panel ensures the selection of all necessary operating parameters.
The JET TIG III AC/DC 250 welder allows welding using the following methods:
- TIG DC PULSE lift-arc - arc ignition occurs through contact of the electrode with the welded material; the pulse function allows welding thin elements by periodic changes in current intensity.
- TIG DC PULSE HF - non-contact HF arc ignition using an ionizer in TIG DC PULSE mode
- TIG DC lift-arc - In the TIG method (Tungsten Inert Gas), the electric arc is ignited in an inert gas shield (argon), between the welded element and a non-consumable electrode made of pure tungsten or tungsten with additives. In TIG lift-arc mode, arc ignition occurs when the electrode touches the welded element. In TIG DC mode the current is constant.
- TIG DC HF - In order to completely eliminate the possibility of contaminating the weld with tungsten, it is recommended that the electrode does not touch the welded element; for this purpose non-contact arc ignition using high-frequency discharges generated by the built-in ionizer is used.
- TIG AC PULSE lift-arc - welding in this mode combines the use of alternating current with pulse, which allows welding very thin aluminum elements. Arc ignition occurs through contact of the electrode with the welded material.
- TIG AC PULSE HF - a function enabling welding of thin aluminum elements. Non-contact ignition thanks to the use of an ionizer.
- TIG AC lift-arc - a function allowing aluminum welding using alternating current, which performs the cathodic cleaning function during aluminum welding. Thanks to the possibility of setting the AC BALANCE parameter, it is possible to adjust the ratio of the duration of its phases.
- TIG AC HF - a similar function enabling aluminum welding using alternating current; arc ignition occurs without contact through high-frequency current generated by the ionizer.
- TIG AC + DC - the ADVANCED AC function allows welding with mixed AC DC- current. During a single cycle there is a transition between alternating current AC and direct current with negative polarity DC(-). This cycle repeats throughout the entire welding process. Mixed current welding is particularly useful when joining elements of different thicknesses. Noise emission is also reduced compared to AC welding.
- PLASMA CUT - a function enabling cutting of electrically conductive elements made of carbon and alloy steels, aluminum and its alloys, brass, copper and also cast iron.
- MMA DC+ - The MMA method uses a coated electrode consisting of a metal core covered with flux coating. An electric arc is created between the end of the electrode and the welded material. Arc ignition occurs by touching the end of the electrode to the welded material. MMA DC+ means welding with positive polarity – more heat is released in the material and less in the electrode.
- MMA DC- - the difference compared to MMA DC+ is that in MMA DC- mode the polarity is negative, therefore the heat distribution is reversed – more heat is released on the electrode and less in the welded material.
- MMA VRD DC+ - the VRD (Voltage Reduction Device) function available in MMA DC+ mode reduces the idle voltage of the secondary circuit of the device. It increases safety and reduces the risk of electric shock. The function switches the welding power supply on and off when resistance between the electrode and the welded element is detected during welding.
- MMA VRD DC- - the VRD (Voltage Reduction Device) function available in MMA DC- mode works analogously to MMA VRD DC+, the difference being the negative polarity.
For all TIG methods the following welding modes are available:
- ARC IGNITION USING THE LIFT-ARC SYSTEM (2T and 4T)
- NON-CONTACT HF ARC IGNITION (2T and 4T)
- ARC IGNITION USING A REMOTE CONTROL PEDAL (2T and 4T)
